Identifying Characteristics:FDL; "1921-1996" in RED; SMY 75; ANN
Design Comments:This patch was designed by the Wagion 75th anniversary commmittee. Contributors included Chuck (II) & Patrick Churby, Regis Dunn, Will & Wes Scarlet, and Daniel Wright. The design of rolling green hills and a conestoga wagion was to be symbolic of Wagion's home camp, "Camp Conestoga". The original design also had a blue creek running through it, but this feature was dropped because of the additional cost of another color thread.
Time Period:August 1995 - June 1996
Historical Notes:There were exactly 1000 of these patches made. There were also 200 hat pins with the same design made. This flap was named the official lodge flap in April of 1995. Wagion by-laws at the time specified that every new ordeal member was to receive a new lodge flap once they became a member at no charge. Because of the high cost of production for this flap, and because Wagion still had thousands of its old flap in stock, the title of the flap was changed shortly thereafter from "Official Lodge Flap" to "Official Anniversary Flap", so that the old flap could still be distributed to new members.
Approximate Value:Last known sale was $20.00
Value Comments: There were two batches of this patch made (500 each), there are no known differences between the first batch and the second batch. There was one batch of 200 hat pins with the same design made, but not many people were interested in purchasing them.
